INCI Name: Biosaccharide gum-2
Biosaccharide gum-2 is a polysaccharide obtained by biotechnology, through bacterial fermentation of plant substrates that forms a branched structure and a sequence of sugars, rich in rhamnose. It acts as a trap, attaching itself to the membrane receptors of attacked keratinocytes, modulating the chain reaction of inflammation.
Consequently, Biosaccharide gum-2 prevents accelerated aging caused not only by a particular agent but also by UV radiation, pollution, and exposure to chemicals, among others. Another important action is the stimulation of the release of β-endorphins, known as pleasure molecules, thus combining protection with well-being.
In short, Biosaccharide gum-2 is a desensitizing agent with a specific fixation ability on keratinocyte receptors. It slows down the aging process and stimulates the synthesis of β-endorphins. Inhibiting the activity of PLA2 (Phospholipase A2) and decreasing the release of PGE2 (Prostaglandin E2), Biosaccharide gum-2 reduces the skin inflammatory process including UV- and retinoid-induced irritation.
Menthol is an ingredient known for its cooling and soothing effects in skin care and pharmaceutical products.
It strengthens the skin's protective layer, reduces water loss, and minimizes environmental stress.
