Fresh, light and citrusy, grapefruit essential oil is popular in aromatherapy for its energising and revitalizing properties. In case of physical and mental exhaustion, it is recharging with energy while lifting the mood. It stimulates the microcirculation and metabolism of the skin and can be used effectively to reduce the symptoms of cellulite. It is also recommended for oily, acne-prone skin due to its antibacterial properties.
Usage:
Add 5-8 drops to water in an aroma diffuser. For a refreshing aromatherapy bath, mix 8-10 drops in 1 teaspoon of avocado oil, cream or honey and add to a bath of water. To reduce the symptoms of cellulite, mix 6-10 drops in 1 tablespoon of avocado or jojoba oil and massage gently into the skin. For oily, acne-prone skin, mix 1-2 drops in a neutral cream and apply to the problematic area. For saunas, add 4 to 6 drops to a ladle of water and after mixing, pour over hot stones.
Skin patch test:
Apply a small amount of the mixture, made according to the instructions, to the inside of the cleansed, dry forearm. Cover with a gauze pad, fix with a tape and wait 24 hours. In case of skin reactions (redness, swelling, itching, blisters), remove the gauze immediately and cleanse the skin with a carrier oil or soapy warm water.
Warning:
for external use only. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes. May cause skin sensitivity, so test skin before use. Do not use undiluted essential oils on skin. The product might cause photosensitivity, so do not expose skin to sunlight or go to a solarium for 12 hours after use. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Do not use on open wounds, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or on children under the age of 5. Do not drip directly onto a burning candle. For saunas, dilute it with water, never drop directly on hot stones.
