Squalene is a natural compound found in human sebum and various plant sources. In cosmetics, it is a popular emollient and moisturizer due to its excellent skin compatibility. Squalene helps restore the skin's lipid barrier, preventing moisture loss and enhancing skin softness. Its lightweight texture makes it easily absorbed without leaving a greasy residue.

Furthermore, Squalene possesses antioxidant properties, protecting the skin from environmental stressors like UV radiation and pollution. Sometimes, Squalene proves to be even better than hyaluronic acid due to its ability to mimic skin’s natural oils. However, they are largely complementary to each other due to their similar benefits. The chemical formula of Squalene is C30H50.
