Originally from Southeast Asia, bergamot is a citrus fruit belonging to the Rutaceae family. In Europe, it is cultivated mainly in southern Italy (Calabria) and Greece. The essential oil is obtained by pressing the fruit's peel. Interestingly, bergamot peel provides the distinctive aroma of the famous Earl Grey tea.

Main Components:
Limonene, linalyl acetate, linalool, citral, geraniol, terpenes, and furocoumarins, such as bergapten.
